“Safety Pays” Company-wide recognition program Provides a means for ‘on the spot’ recognition for remarkable acts of safety Agrium’s way of thanking an individual working on KPO site for making his/her work environment safer

“Safety Pays” Q Who distribute the poker chips? A Supervisors, Superintendents and Plant Managers

“Safety Pays” Q When should a chip be given? A Immediately “on the spot” to an individual or individuals who recognize a hazard and took immediate corrective actions.

“Safety Pays” Q What constitutes “earning” a Chip? A Safety action taken to prevent an incident (i.e. roping off an unsafe area to protect others, sanding an icy walkways). Some individuals that are very positive might get multiple chips.

Goals of “Safety Pays” Encourages employees to do the right thing for the right reasons Avert complacency through active participation and pro-active approaches to safety Adopts a safe behavior and cares for fellow employees

KPO “Safety Pays” Program Supervisors can obtain poker chips from Health and Safety Coordinator and Human Resources (HR). HR (URS & Agrium) has a “Safety Pays” recognition spreadsheet to keep track of poker chips given; DATE OF ISSUE RECIPIENTS NAME RECOGNITION GIVEN BYREASON FOR RECOGNITION

KPO “Safety Pays” Program Continued Supervisors must enter appropriate information on the “Safety Pays” recognition spreadsheet before any recipient will be able to redeem his/her poker chip for $25 gift certificate from HR.

KPO “Safety Pays” Program Continued $25 Gift certificates are available for the following local retail businesses; Canadian Tire Wal-Mart Esso Casey’s Restaurant
