1 0 Confidential project team draft – Does not reflect any decisions made Business Process Review survey - Frequently Asked Questions (1/2) ▪ Yes. To ensure anonymity, everyone will receive and individual link to the survey, please don’t share it as it will only be available for use once. Responses will be collated at the contractor’s survey centre and fed back to the project team – neither the ILO, nor the contractor project team will have access to whom replied. ▪ The contractor is one of the world’s leading international management consultancies. They specialize in helping clients solve business problems in areas such as operations, organizational performance, technology management and different kinds of business strategy. They have extensive experience in the public sector and with the UN, helping organizations to manage programs like our Review of administrative, business and processing functions, enabling them to improve their performance significantly and sustain these improvements. ▪ Only the contractor survey centre analyst will be able to see the individual responses. No one from the ILO staff or the contractor team on the ground will have access to them. Will the survey be confidential? 3 ▪ As you might know, we have engaged an external provider to assist us with understanding the key leadership and cultural elements that we need to build a distinctively high performing organization. This survey is a part of the process, conducted in parallel with management interviews and internal assessments. The results will be used to diagnose the Office’s current strengths and development needs in terms of leadership, direction, values, mindsets, management execution, innovation, and external orientation. Why are we running this survey? 1 Why was the contractor selected? 2 Who will see my responses? 5 4 So why does the survey ask personal information about me, such as my job level and tenure? ▪ These questions allow the project team to analyse the results of the survey according to various groups of employees, making it more informative. Neither the ILO staff nor the contractor team on the ground will have access to individual answers. In reporting the results, only aggregates and percentages based on the total number of responses are shared with the ILO – to ensure anonymity we will not share any results for groups of less than 10 people. ▪ The comments provided to any open-ended questions in the survey will be grouped together with those from all other employees and randomized before the contractor team on the ground or the ILO team sees them. To make a reliable assessment of how healthy the ILO is, the survey needs to capture your perspective on all of them. Also, within each of these areas, we ask you to assess how well the ILO is doing, but also how often you see specific management practices in your day-to-day work. All this makes the survey broad, however it enables us to get a comprehensive, fact-based assessment on how the ILO is doing. 9 ▪ The survey generally takes about 30 minutes to complete. How long does it take to complete a survey? 8 ▪ This is a much broader and deeper assessment of how the organization is doing than previous surveys. Also, it is unique because it has extensive research behind it – it is statistically proven that healthy organizations are more likely to outperform their peers. This survey also incorporates standards that will allow us to benchmark the ILO’s health against other, similar organizations. We already ran a lot of engagement surveys – why are we running another one? 6 How will the survey benefit me? ▪ By taking part in this survey, you can anonymously share information that will help create a better performing Office and work culture for you and your colleagues. 7 Who do I contact if I have any questions? ▪ You can contact Mike Buchholtz from the ILO. 10
