How did the illustration help your understanding? Explain. Have you ever tasted maple syrup? What are the steps in gathering maple syrup? What additional steps are needed to get maple sugar? Maple Syrup Sequence Chart Making Maple Syrup Grandpa made wooden buckets and troughs. Bored hole in maple tree. Put trough in hole and bucket under trough. Emptied buckets into barrel on sled. Boiled sap in kettle over bonfire. Used ladle to cool sap. Pour syrup into buckets. Poured grains into pans for maple syrup.
