E.g.: NASA Applied Science Program The program funds applied science research and applications projects to enable near-term uses of Earth science, transition applied knowledge to public and private organizations, and integrate Earth science and satellite observations in organizations’ decision making and services. The projects are carried out in partnership with end user organizations. The Disasters applications area focuses on forecasting, mitigation, and response to natural and technological disasters. Call for proposals expected in near future – build on this workshop? Contact Franz Meyer, UAF – fmeyer@gi.alaska.edu for details 6/13/11UAF-DGGS-ACCAP Cryosphere Hazards WS
