7 Jenny Curran Forrest’s big Love
Has as a dream to become a folk singer. “Jenny and I were like peas and carrots. She taught me how to climb. I showed her how to dangle. She helped me learn how to read, and I showed her how to swing. Sometimes, we'd just sit out and wait for the stars.” Run; Forrest! Run! “She lived in a house that was as old as Alabama. Her mama had gone to heaven when she was five, and her daddy was some kind of a farmer.”

8 Dan Taylor “He was from a long, great military tradition. Somebody in his family had fought and died in every single American war.” “The day you are a shrimp boat captain, I will come and be your first mate.”

13 Criticism based on two stories
Robert Faires, Austin Chronicle / July 15, 1994 Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun Times / July 6, 1994 “Any attempt to describe him will risk making the movie seem more conventional than it is.” “Tom Hanks may be the only actor who could have played the role” It’s not only an average lifestory drama. There are very successful actors in the business who could pull the part of pretty well. It reframes recent history of the world.

14 My own evaluation Compare with Benjamin Button
The scenes are connected. Barber shop School bus Father Forrest and son Forrest Reframes important events happened in America. “Some years later, that handsome young man who they called The King, well, he sung too many songs. Had himself a heart attack or something. It must be hard being a king.” “Some time later, for no particular reason, somebody shot that nice young President (Kennedy) when he was in his car. And a few years after that, somebody shot his little brother, too, only he was in a hotel kitchen.”

15 My own evaluation Social events
Jenny is drug addict, of growing up in a bad family. Forrest endangers his own life to save Bubba.
