As a daughter of a Vietnam War Marine that was consider Killed in Action in the biggest political war. It was considered the ten thousand day war. There were over 500,000 US troops through out the war and over 800,000 South Vietnam troops against over 200,000 North Vietnamese troops. United States had 58,220 dead; 1,719 missing; 303,635 wounded. Introduction

The task will be to pick one of the battles that are enclosed. You will have to research about the battle more then just finding out how many died or were wounded and when it started. The paper should include who, what, where, when, and why it happened. Hamburger Hill- a battle with the US and South Vietnam against North Vietnamese. Hamburger Hill- US forces were engaged in the A Shau Valley from May 10 to May 20, 1969. Nine battalions of American and Vietnamese troops were helilifted into landing zones between the A Shau Valley and the Laotian border to disrupt possible North Vietnamese attacks toward the coast and to cut off Communist escape routes.
