Master information Mechanical Engineering Today: overview of structure of master programme competence profiles Next month: information about specialisations Welcome

Program today Bachelor Coordinator (M.Rijkeboer): Structure of master programme ME Prof. Hoeijmakers: Profile: Research & Development Prof. Schipper: Profile: Design & Construction Prof. van Houten: Profile: Organisation & Management Discussion

Choices After your bachelor graduation: Advanced studies?  Employment Master of Science?  Professional education Mech. Engineering?  WB’er: >40 choices  Master Mechanical Engineering

Other MSc programmes unconditional (14): Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Eng, Marine Technology, Mechatronics, Sustainable Energy Technology Applied Earth Science; Offshore Eng.; Transport, Infrastructure & Logistics; Industrial Eng. & Management; Management of Technology; Engineering Industrial Org. & Man. Design for Interaction, Integrated Product Design, Strategic Product Design

Other programmes (cont.) With requirements (< 30 EC) within 3TU (27): BiT, BMT, CiT, INF, IO, TBK, TEL, TN, TW, Building Sciences, Material Science, Medical Eng, Nanoscience, Physics Education; Science Education; Geoinformatics, Human Technology, Human Media, Technology & Policy, Media & Knowledge Eng; Operations Management; Etc. Google: ‘doorstroommatrix’ at websites 3TUs

Choices stepwise Master Mechanical Engineering at UT a.Choose a competence profile1 out of 3 b.Choose a specialisation 1 out of ~11 c.Compose your own programme  Every programme is personalised  Within the framework  approval!  If not: ask the Examination Committee for approval

Which profile? Three competence profiles: 1.Research & Development (R&D) 2.Design & Construction (D&C) 3.Organisation & Management (O&M) Main questions: What are my strengths and weaknesses? What kind of work do a like? What kind of working environment do I like?

Answers to the three questions What are my strengths and weaknesses?  Reflection about roles and tasks in the project groups; scores on exams… What kind of work do I like?  To know, to invent, to realise, to organise What kind of working environment do I like?  Monthly presentations by recent graduates….
