2. FAMILY  My mother was Dorothy Ewing, and my father was Carl Ewing  I had six other siblings all younger than me  My mother passed away after a heart attack

3. WHERE I AM FROM  I was Born August 5, 1962.  I am from Kingston Jamaica, and I have 6 younger siblings  We were very poor

4. WHEN I MOVED  I moved in 1975 and I was 12 years old  Came to Cambridge Massachusetts to live with family again after they split up in Jamaica.

5. REASONS  After 4 years of living in Jamaica alone (without parents) Family raised enough money to bring me and my siblings to the U.S.  My dad always wanted to come to the US

6. BASKETBALL  Very poor when he came to U.S.  Loved basketball in Jamaica so he continued to play  He was a natural, at 12 years old he was 6 foot 6 inches  Played four years of college basketball at Georgetown University in Washington D. C.

KNOWN FOR  I Played for the NBA  I Was New York’s 3 rd leading scorer with over 24,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists  Averaged 21 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 1.9 APG, 2.45 BPG, 34.3 MinPG  Played for New York, Seattle, and Orlando  Inducted into madison square garden walk of fame on October 29, 1996

8. COMMUNITY  I lived in a poor community and worked very hard for money  In my free time I would get some friends and play a pick-up basketball game  My mother did not work

9. INTERESTING FACTS  Learned to play basketball from my neighbors  Attended Georgetown University in Washington DC  Had a kid while at college  Named on of the 50 greatest player of all time
