FAMILY My mother was Dorothy Ewing, and my father was Carl Ewing I had six other siblings all younger than me My mother passed away after a heart attack

WHERE I AM FROM I was Born August 5, 1962. I am from Kingston Jamaica, and I have 6 younger siblings We were very poor

WHEN I MOVED I moved in 1975 and I was 12 years old Came to Cambridge Massachusetts to live with family again after they split up in Jamaica.

REASONS After 4 years of living in Jamaica alone (without parents) Family raised enough money to bring me and my siblings to the U.S. My dad always wanted to come to the US

BASKETBALL Very poor when he came to U.S. Loved basketball in Jamaica so he continued to play He was a natural, at 12 years old he was 6 foot 6 inches Played four years of college basketball at Georgetown University in Washington D. C.

KNOWN FOR I Played for the NBA I Was New York’s 3 rd leading scorer with over 24,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists Averaged 21 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 1.9 APG, 2.45 BPG, 34.3 MinPG Played for New York, Seattle, and Orlando Inducted into madison square garden walk of fame on October 29, 1996

COMMUNITY I lived in a poor community and worked very hard for money In my free time I would get some friends and play a pick-up basketball game My mother did not work
