11 11 2008 Highlights MedSurplus Network formation Becoming an official organization Establish basic standards – Members should have a clean warehouse that allows easy access to inventory and have trained staffing and equipment – Biomedical equipment be in good working order and ensure recipients have proper expertise to operate equipment – Members shall sort items into like categories to ensure shipments match recipient’s needs.

14 14 Continued - Highlights Study on donation values Historically, value of donations were underestimated Goal is to create a more scientific method – Use wholesale price of product – Apply that price to random group of supplies – Determine average value per pound

15 15 2009 Goals Ship equivalent of 14 containers (23,000 cu/ft & 172,000 lbs) Increase volunteer daily activity to achieve 1500 hours annual Revise sorting process to make it more volunteer friendly Create a structure to involve hospitals in Southern California (Providence, CHW, Daughters of Charity, St. Joseph of Orange)
