Brussels, 6th October 2010, OPEN DAYS 2010 What is going to be built: 3365 km: Total length of a planned optical fibre network Nodes to be built: 19 backbone nodes 161 distribution nodes 276 access nodes As a result at least 90.5% of households and 100% of private companies and public institutions will be covered by broadband by the end of 2013. 6

Brussels, 6th October 2010, OPEN DAYS 2010 Malopolska Region: New ICT Projects Malopolska Medical Information System + RTF: Regional Telemedicine Forum (INTERREG IVC) Virtual Museums of Malopolska ICT for schools Rebuilding e-administration (e.g. new version of Malopolska Gateway Portal, development of digital office) Videoconferencing system for Malopolska Region All the above project are supposed to be EU co-financed by the EU (except for RTF which is already co-financed). 7
