5 Conduct a keyword search on a specific topic Conducting a library catalog search to find books and audiovisual materials Tip: A keyword or title search will lead us to LC subject headings which, in turn, will lead us to more relevant sources.

How to Find Academic Journal Articles? Topics Select hot topics on your desired occupation from online databases such as PowerSearch Search Evaluate Conduct Subject or Keyword searches in PowerSearch Limit to full-text and peer-reviewed publications Select and evaluate retrieved journal articles Save Cite Have the full-text article printed or e-mailed or read for you Use the Citation Tool to cite the sources and tweak the citations with MLA citation guide 9

11 Conduct an Effective Keyword Search Identify keywords or phrase for the search Use one or more Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) to thread your keywords together in needed Limit your search to full-text articles and peer-reviewed publications before clicking on the search button

13 1.Click on the title link to display the full-text article 2.Evaluate the sources to see whether they are current, well-written, scholarly publications with insights that would help you build your argument or statement 3.“Word Count” serves as a clue that the articles are lengthy research articles
