Background Time frame: January 2010 – December2014 Countries: Sierra Leone, Ghana, Niger, Ethiopa, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Malawi Core Funding: Ministry of Foreign Affairs Objective: Reduce child mortality and morbidity and empower rural and (peri) urban communities and schools

Background Targets: 805 rural communities and 36 peri-urban communities are ODF. 742 schools have toilets for boys and girls. 2.6 million people have improved theire hygiene and sanitation practices. 2.1 million people have access to improved sanitation.

Overall Progress 5 of the 8 countries have CLTS accepted as the main sanitation strategy by the government (all but Sierra Leone, Niger and Zambia). More and more experiences are gained on SLTS, urban CLTS, sanitation marketing and other emerging issues. Communities are empowered Neighbouring communities take up CLTS

Mid Term Review Requirement of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs Objective: draw lessons learned of past and on-going activities in order to improve the implementation of the Pan African Program Evaluation at program and project level Time Frame: March – August 2012 Deadlines: 15th April share ToR with NLNO/ RESA 1st of July send MTR to NLNO/ RESA
