Our oceans and seas cover three quarters of the Earth. B u t b e c a u s e t h is m a s s o f s e a w a t e r is s o b i g, h u m a n s h a v e d i v i d e d it u p a n d p u t n a m e s t o t h e d if f e r e n t p a r t s. They are connected. If you take a boat you can sail in every ocean and sea without having to go down to land. Because this mass of seawater is so big, humans have divided it up and put names to the different parts.

What’ s the difference between an ocean and a sea? A sea is a part of one of the five oceans, so it is smaller. A sea is partially enclosed by land. Mediterranean sea
