8 Count! Dances are performed on an 8 count You should always count when performing a dance All dances should be learned by breaking down the steps by counts of 8 There are some exceptions to the rule!

DANCE STEPS Side Step Step to the R side, together, L side, together Chasse Moving forward/sideways step together step R, step together step L: 1 and 2, 3 and 4 Similar to skipping

Attitude A position in which the dancer stands on one leg (known as the supporting leg) while the other leg (working leg) is lifted and well turned out with the knee bent at approximately 120-degree angle. The lifted or working leg can be behind, in front, or on the side of the body.
