15 During 2010 the UP was challenged to reform doctoral studies in order to adapt to the European changes on third cycle. After exploring organization of doctoral studies at different European institutions and having into considerations local conditions, human resources and research infrastructure, the UP has chosen to follow up University of Zagreb- Croatia as model. Structure and organization of doctoral studies are defined at the institutional level and all faculties have to follow it. (…recommendations to the Senate of UP for changes!) The regulation provides a common framework, code and rules for whole university, including detailed rules on recruitment of students, supervision, exams, evaluation and defense of thesis. Doctoral school is led by Central Committee for Doctoral Studies that is chaired by Rector and Vice-Rector, and has representatives of main study fields (senior professors). Structure of doctoral study programs is divided in two parts: training 1/3 and research 2/3 both reflected on ECTS. Status of PhD studies at UP UP is the only HE Institution that is accredited for PhD studies in Kosova 154-8/June/2014University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina"
