What is the PROBLEM? Decide what the problem is? Before you can make a decision you have to know what the problem is!

Think about the ALTERNATIVES After you have established what the problem is, you can brainstorm for alternatives It is good to have 2-3 alternatives for each problem when completing the decision making process List the pros and cons of the alternatives

Select a Solution for Problem Evaluate the Alternatives Consider all pros and cons What alternative best fits the problem Stand strong in your decision and be confident that it is the right thing to do!

Type of Decision Making Group Decision Making Made up of more then one person effected by the problem Individual Decision Making One person effected by problem OR One person selected to fix a problem Management Member, Administrator, etc.

Assets of Group Decision Making Groups can accumulate more knowledge and facts Groups have a broader perspective and consider more alternative solutions Individuals who participate in decisions are satisfies with the decision and are more likely to support it. Group decisions making processes serve an important communication function.
