16. Why put a dog park on the river? The idea for a riverfront dog park has been in the works for years. It appears in the city’s 2009 Clyde Fant Parkway Recreational Plan and in the parish’s Red River Master Plan.

29. Who will police the dog park? You will! Dog park users generally take pride in their dog parks and will follow the rules. If help is needed, call the proper authorities.

30. How can I be sure dog park dogs are healthy? Veterinarian records will need to be shown to get a special tag that must be worn on the collar. There will be a small fee for this annual tag. New electronic ideas may be forthcoming.

31. What about dogs fighting? When dogs are not on their own territory they don’t act territorial and aggressive When dogs aren’t tethered to you by a leash they don’t feel they have to protect you; leashed dogs feel vulnerable causing aggression
