2. Getting on and Falling out This theme focuses on developing children's knowledge, understanding and skills in three key social and emotional aspects of learning: Managing feelings (with a focus on anger) Empathy Social skills

3. Getting on and Falling out The theme is structured around the following key strands: Friendship Working together in groups/co-operation Seeing things from another point of view Understanding and managing feelings- anger Resolving conflict

4. Friendship I can play with other children and say sorry when I’ve been unkind I can make someone feel good by giving them a compliment I can be a good listener and tell you lots of ways to give friendship tokens

7. Working together/co-operation I can work in a group with other children I can discuss in a group how well we are working together I can explain to people why I agree/don’t agree with them

8. Seeing things from another point of view – developing empathy

9. Understanding and managing feelings - anger I know when I am starting to feel angry (triggers) I know how our bodies change when we start to get angry I know some ways to calm down

10. Resolving conflict I know how to make up with a friend when we have fallen out I can use peaceful problem solving to sort out difficulties I can say and do things that are likely to make a difficult situation better
