Develop an abstract dwelling typology. Think of possible consequences on urban scale and sustainability. Maximum dimensions: 4 x 12 x 9m Maximum 2 façades and a roof Test the functionality and flexibility of the dwelling type in relation to needs of different users. DESIGN WORKSHOP GENT LIFELONG LIVING, HOUSING AND SUSTAINABILITY MAIN CONCEPT: plan of the building is divided into 3 parts 4x4m the central part is designed as a stable core; it contains a staircase and spaces that require installations like kitchen or bathroom THE CORE

DESIGN WORKSHOP GENT LIFELONG LIVING, HOUSING AND SUSTAINABILITY FLEXIBILITY: at the beginning the house can have only 1 level it can be easily extended by adding upper floors there are no load-bearing walls; steel frames are the only construction of the building and can be added if necessary STEEL FRAMES

DESIGN WORKSHOP GENT LIFELONG LIVING, HOUSING AND SUSTAINABILITY FLEXIBILITY: it is possible to build maximum 3 floors extension can be made by adding boxes on both sides of the core NEXT LEVELS

DESIGN WORKSHOP GENT LIFELONG LIVING, HOUSING AND SUSTAINABILITY FLEXIBILITY: the façades are compeletly flexible as they can be formed with panels from different materials (glass panels, brick walls etc.) walls are not fixed; they can be moved in any place between the core and the exterior frame (they are not a part of the construction) PANELS
