3 CCS goes Google! Purpose. The purpose of the Google Apps integration is to provide teachers and students effective, reliable, and secure avenues for communication and collaboration. Process. By harnessing the power of Google Apps, CCS will provide teachers and students access to a suite of collaborative tools that can be easily integrated into an array of learning objects. In addition, teachers will receive relevant, appropriate, just-in-time training on best practices and effective implementation of Google Apps. Payoff. The integration of Google Apps will result in the development of an engaging collaborative anytime, anywhere, culture of learning.

4 Culture of Learning The division has organized multiple methods for modifying the implementation as we develop a customized Google App environment.  A Google Project Management team has been organized to evaluate, research, and establish processes and protocols.  CCS administrators and the Google Project Management team are in constant communication and work collaboratively in the decision making process.  A feedback loop has been developed allowing all staff to communicate findings, concerns, and recommendations.  Google pilot teams have been and will continue to be organized to trial out facets of the Google Apps prior to large-scale migration and implementation.

5 Additional Guidelines The CCS Google Apps integration is a private network. Unless provided access, individuals outside of the ‘charlottesvilleschools.org’ community will not be able to view information generated within this network.  The division recommendation is that teachers provide limited outside network access and follow their school-based guidelines prior to granting public access to Google Apps products.  Check with your school administrator(s)!
