Adjective Modifies (describes) a noun or pronoun Tells: ▫What kind ? ▫Which one ? ▫How much? ▫How many?

What kind? The studious girl has been reading. The wild and crazy clown ▫danced around.

Which one? The blue house is mine. The tall man is my uncle.

How many? Mrs. Collins owns two cars..He won 100,000 dollars.

How much? Goofy needed 2/3 cup of oil for his recipe. I don’t have enough time!

A, an, and the are a type of adjective know as articles- but you will never need to mark these. Just use these to help you find nouns.

Adjective or Pronoun? Nick ate several brownies. The next day he ate another. One brownie should have been enough. Nick thought one was not enough.

Adjective or Noun? How much television do you watch? Please close the television cabinet. This is my favorite coffee cup. I drink coffee every day.

Practice 1. The dirty floor had black ink spilled on it. 2. There was a loud noise when the British tourist fell off the balcony. 3. George Washington was a great president. 4. There was a metallic thud when the car crashed into the tall building.

5. Twenty – five cookies were on the large plate. 6. You will need 2/3 cup of flour to make the delicious recipe. 7. The goofy child liked to dance in front of guests.
