It is a time to gather with family and friends to give thanks for the many blessings enjoyed by these nations and their citizens. However, to many people, its meaning is lost. It has become simply another day for huge meals, dinner parties, get-togethers or reunions.

It began as the time the Pilgrims and Indians shared food at the first Thanksgiving. Now it is a time for family and friends to gather together to celebrate the things they have to be thankful and share the time together.

On 1863 Abraham Lincoln decided that Thanksgiving became an American holiday. Thanksgiving is celebrated on Thursday. Thanksgiving is a part of the Broader holiday season.

Prayers of thanks and special thanksgiving ceremonies are common among almost all religions after harvests and at other times. The holiday's history in North America is rooted in English traditions dating from the Protestant Reformation. It also has aspects of a harvest festival, even though the harvest in New England occurs well before the late-November date of the holiday

Franklin D. Roosevelt changed Thanksgiving by moving it for a week, because of the economy in U.S.A. By moving the holiday he increased income of money before Christmas. It helped U.S to improve their economy

There is no school and work.

They celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada, but instead of having it in November, they have it in October

We eat mash potatoes and pumpkin pie and apple pie, turkey, ham, green beans
