3D PRINTERS Presentation By: Haadiya Furqan(GCE O1)

The Starting Of 3d Printing The technology is used to create a 3D model from a picture and allows users to test a design before investing in a larger manufacturing program. In 1984, Charles Hull invented ‘stereo lithography’, a printing process that enables a 3D object to be created from digital data.

Introduction To 3d Printing 3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the entire object is created. Each of these layers can be seen as a thinly sliced horizontal object.
5
How It Works? 3D printers work like inkjet printers. Instead of ink, 3D printers deposit the desired material in successive layers to create a physical object from a digital file. It all starts with making a virtual design of the object you want to create.

PARTS

Advantages Numerous products can be manufactured at the same time. Scientists now Use 3D Printing to Create Artificial Organs that can be used in transplants to help needy patients. 3D printer can print in over one-hundred different materials. Cut traditional prototyping and tooling costs.
8
Disadvantages 3D printing technology is currently limited by size constraints. The cost of buying a 3D printer still does not make its purchase by the average householder feasible. Unchecked production of dangerous items. 3D printers can be used to scan and print I.D. and credit cards, car keys, as well as a multiplicity of other private belongings.
9
Use In Industries 3D Printing helps architectural firms seize more opportunities by creating complex, durable models in- house, directly from CAD data. 3D printing is used in dental to rapidly produce crowns, bridges and a range of orthodontic appliances. 3D printing allows doctors to researchers for patient care and advanced experimental work.
