Monday, 12 May 2014 Agenda: Lecture: The Art of Quoting---Take notes! Finish writing your three body paragraphs. Be sure they include: A Claim – A statement that directly addresses your thesis Evidence – This can be in the form of a direct quote or paraphrase with a parenthetical citation. This can be in the form of personal experience (narrative) Commentary/Analysis – Here you will go into detail (3 or 4 sentences) and analyze how the quote or experience directly relates to your thesis statement.
