3. Lesson Four - What is creation? Key Text - Psalm 148:1-6 1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights! 2 Praise him, all his angels; praisehim, all his hosts! 3 Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! 4 Praise him, you highest heavens,and you waters above the heavens! 5 Let them praise the name of the Lord! For he commanded and they werecreated. 6 And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.

Key Text - Colossians 1:15- 17 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heavenand on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were createdthrough him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

5. Lesson Four - What is creation? The Created Creation God created all creation from nothing. Using His power, wisdom and understand as a blueprint, His word constructed all things, as His hovered over creation its divine Forman.

7. Unlike the rest of creation, God formed man in His own image and breathed His Spirit into him for the purpose eternal relationship.

8. Lesson Four - What is creation? God is distinct from and independent of Creation. He created all things and can not be confined by anything. He moves in and through creation but still rules sovereignly over it.

11. The Glory-Giving Creation God created all things to express his love, power wisdom and beauty to his creation. He does not need any Glory from us, but to glorify our creator should be our paramount priority.

12. Lesson Four - What is creation? Augustine said, “He loves Thee too little who loves anything together with Thee, which he loves not for Thysake.”

13. Lesson Four - What is creation? Our love for this world and the things in it must never trump our love for the One who created it.
