Matthew 14:25-33 (NIV) 25 During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.” 28 "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water.” 29 "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

Matthew 14:25-33 (cont.) 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?” 32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

Colossians 1:15-18 (NIV) 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
16
The authority of Jesus dispels the disciples’ doubt about Jesus’ identity. The authority of Jesus shapes who we are and what we do as his followers

Romans 10:13-15 (NIV) "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
