CReW: About Us ● Formed three years ago; still evolving and adapting to the needs of the residents ● Co-chaired by Dr. Richard Montoro (Assistant Dean of Resident Affairs) ● Our vision ● To ensure that residency at McGill is an inclusive environment which values physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellness

Mission If the following aspects appeal to you: Organizing social or sport events Organizing workshops to improve life skills Providing practical affordable resources for residents Offering support from CReW members

CReW/ARM’s Policy On Learner Mistreatment Completely intolerable behavior Needs to be reported Confidentiality Case by case basis The McGill Faculty of Medicine is very motivated to improve our learning environment

Resident Wellness All programs are welcome to join and help out Residency – truly exciting time High level of stress, with higher rates of depression and burn out Not a transition period Balance life/ work ◦Enjoy the process

Wellness Survey Conducted in the late Summer of 2012 ◦More than 300 residents replied ◦Prizes were drawn Results were obtained after compiling the internet survey ◦Main objectives Look into the current needs of residents in terms of the different health determinants Areas we may want to advocate for with the Faculty

Wellness Survey Most Salient Results Many health determinants were well balanced by the majority of the respondents ◦Eating breakfast, sleeping hours, vacations… Several problematic areas ◦Diet ◦Exercise ◦Having access to a GP
