GENERAL PERSON Shared across all data implementations Student (eight instances), Finance, HR (five instances) At time of entry there is no system affiliation Becomes a student, employee or vendor when a key form is entered in a system. For HR it is PEAEMPL. Multiple data ‘types’ for addresses and telephone numbers. Specific ones procedurally assigned to different systems.

BANNER HR DISTRIBUTION Banner HR will use Chart ‘X’ Base Banner can’t cross Charts (COA) in a position Actual Chart will be in the Location column FOAPAL on the position is used for: Budgeting Default distribution for the job Is not effective dated Labor Distribution is determined by the FOAPAL on the job

Routing Queues – identifying approvers Will be the most time consuming effort Four different ways to set up Routing Queues Reports To By Organization By Position (how to pool positions?) By Job (position and suffix) Approvers can, and should, assign Proxies BANNER HR WEB TIME AND LEAVE

Timesheets and Leave Reports are used to report current period time and leave Timesheets for positive time employees Leave Reports for exception time employees Leave Requests are used for future periods When the Leave Request time period becomes the current period, the Leave Requested automatically populates the current period Timesheet or Leave Report. BANNER HR WEB TIME AND LEAVE

Timesheets, Leave Reports, and Leave Requests are automatically created for employees when the employee first accesses that period. Superusers can also cause the form to be created A Timesheet, Leave Report or Leave Request form will not generate if there is a ‘broken’ approval queue. Employees encouraged to open applicable form within the first few days of the period. BANNER HR WEB TIME AND LEAVE

Once the timesheet is submitted by the employee and approved by the approver, the time is available to be included in a payroll calculation. Leave Accrued is added to leave balances as part of the payroll calculation Leave Taken is subtracted from the leave balances as part of the payroll calculation Once a leave report is submitted by the employee and approved by the approver, leave is immediately deducted from leave balances.
