DRAFT - HP Confidential – Restricted Distribution 7 Business Copy Replication Technologies Technology Benefit 3-Phase Snapshot (EVA 4000/6000/8000) Speeds up the Snapshot creation process by pre-allocating the target container. This technology is also used to support the Instant Restore feature. Instant Restore from a Snapclone, or Vdisk Ensures that a source volume can be restored, with a few clicks, virtually instantaneously saving valuable information Replication Solutions Manager (RSM) for the full EVA family Replication Solutions Manager now manages both Business Copy and Continuous Access from one unified, easy to use GUI on the full EVA family. This new tool dramatically simplifies managing replication and results in significantly better resource utilization. Up to 16 snapshots per Virtual Disk The EVA 4000/6000/8000 now support up to 16 snapshots of a single Vdisk. This expanded support allows users to take more frequent copies of data to improve business continuity. Oracle Application Integration Provides auto discovery of Oracle databases and allows the user to quickly replicate both full databases and table spaces. Virtually Capacity-Free Snapshot (Vsnap) An exclusive, true space efficient snapshot that automatically allocates space as needed requiring less storage space than other traditional snapshot implementations. Virtually Instantaneous Snapclone Automatically allocates space and provides immediate use of a clone copy. This can save significant amounts of staff time waiting for a mirror to normalize while providing access to critical information immediately. Cross Vraid Snapclone, Vsnap and Snapshot The user can change the RAID type of the point-in-time copy, saving cost by matching storage resources and protection levels to information value. Snapclone to different disk groups Offers the unique ability to use tiered storage by creating the replica on less expensive, high performing FATA drives New

DRAFT - HP Confidential – Restricted Distribution 9 Target Customers Customers who have already invested in FC SANS −especially those who have or are interested in investing in EVA SANs Customers with Servers not attached to FC SANS −70% of servers in data center are not attached to FC SANS Compute Clusters, Department Servers, Front End Web Servers, Database Clients 60% of Blade Servers −Servers not attached to FC SAN because Do not require FC performance for storage I/O Cost of connectivity to FC SAN is too high ($1000 per port) Restricted by distance Larger FC SAN customers who want to extend SAN advantages into smaller departments and remote locations -- places where the budget would not allow a FC SAN. FC SAN customers looking to further consolidate and simplify their storage and server infrastructure. −Centralized storage array to manage and back-up −Command View to manage both FC and iSCSI
