3 What’s the meaning safety ?  Safety can be defined to be the control of recognized hazards to achieve an acceptable level of risk. This can take the form of being protected from the event or from exposure to something that causes health or economical losses. It can include protection of people or of possessions.

4 What is a Safety Statement? * the safety and health of employees while they work * the safety and health of other people who might be at the workplace, including customers, visitors and members of the public *** The safety statement should influence on all work activities, including: 1- the selection of competent people, equipment and materials 2- the way work is done 3- how goods and services are designed and provided

5 Why is it important to carry out a Risk prevention and prepare a Safety Statement?  The main aim is to make sure that no one gets hurt or becomes ill  Financial reasons  Legal reasons  Moral and ethical reasons  ** There is considerable evidence, borne out by companies' practical experiences, that effective safety and health management in the workplace contributes to business success. The process of carrying out a risk assessment, preparing a safety statement and implementing what you have written down will help employers prevent injuries and ill- health at work.

6 how to safety from a hazard? **Proper safety training should make a dedicated effort to cover the hazards that could potentially go unnoticed. A prime example of this type of hazard is carbon monoxide, which can neither be seen nor smelled, but is most definitely deadly.
