2.  Before we start we would like to play a game! If you agree with the statements we say please stand up and STAY standing. I want to own my own home. (we are the founders of homes.) I like to cook. ( We do Culinary!) I want to teach, work with kids or work in the hotel or food industry ( all career paths we deal with) I want to have a family ( NEED I EXPLAIN ) I want to travel ( We travel across regions in Idaho and sometimes nationally) I want a scholarship for college ( Sometimes you CAN either get scholarships for being in fccla or be more eligible.) I want to make my community a better place ( volunteer)

3.  FCCLA stands for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America  A national student organization that helps men and women become strong leaders in their families, careers and communities!

4.  As a member, you will be able to:  Develop leadership skills  Meet new people with similar interests  Compete at district, state, and national competitions  Travel to new places with other members  Complete service projects to benefit the community

5. FCCLA a club that teaches, learns about, and promotes Family Consumer Sciences such as… Culinary Fashion Adult Living Family Relationships Service Interior Design

6.  We are a club that competes locally and nationally in projects relating to Family and Consumer Sciences  STAR Events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) recognize members for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation.

9.  After choosing what area to compete in you start by getting your project ready!  The first stage of competition is Districts on FEBRUARY 11 th  Qualifiers go to State Competition in April

10.  Getting into the next round of competitions can be challenging, but very rewarding  State Competition is APRIL 12 th – 14 th  Qualifiers go to National Competition in July

11.  Nationals is the third and final stage of competition  Nationals is July 8 th -12 th  It takes place in Orlando, Florida!

14.  Mountain View FCCLA is a club that is focused on growth within ourselves and the community.  When you join FCCLA at Mountain View you not only join a club but you join a family  Together we:  Share our high hopes and work together  Focus on family issues  Use projects to provide leadership opportunities  Develop skills necessary for later life  Recognize the hard work of our members

16.  Every first and third Thursday from 7 to 8:30 PM in room 204  There will be a lunch meeting every fourth Thursday (second half of lunch)  Come and join us, we’d love for you to see what FCCLA is all about!
