What is Desktop Virtualization? Desktop Virtualization is the technology of separating the desktop environment from the physical client device and hosted on a centralized or remote server, as a virtual machine. Our product, Evolve IP DaaS (desktop as a service), utilizes this technology. By leveraging desktop virtualization from VMware, IT managers are freed from the need to “touch” each desktop when adding or removing users or to fix problems and deliver new applications, managing hardware, saving staff time and keeping employee productive.desktop virtualization All for a predictable monthly fee.

What are the Benefits of Desktop Virtualization? Economics –CapEx to OpEx: shifts capital expenditures to a predictable monthly recurring revenue. Stability – Evolve IP offers DaaS delivered from our robust technology centers over multiple carriers. Scalability – Easy for administrators to add/remove and update desktops. Performance – immediately address PC issues –from ANY location. Security – External/Remote users can have secure access to company apps and data.

Desktop Virtualization: Industry Landscape Desktone was the industry leader in desktop as a service. VMWare recognized this and acquired them; we combined their product with our infrastructure as Evolve IP DaaS. Our main competitors are AWS (Amazon Work Spaces) and Citrix. If customers already have Citrix and want to keep it – we can actually host that infrastructure on our cloud.

Evolve is Different How does Evolve IP make desktop virtualization different? PcoIP and Blast, web or client protocol, allow users to have the flexibility of a traditional VDI environment and a remote interface. VMware is the leader of virtualization and combined with our infrastructure, we can provide a robust solution. By integrating EMC XtremIO storage, we have built our DaaS environment on the fastest storage and network available to date. Right now, Evolve IP’s DaaS is one of the fastest desktop virtualization services.

Challenges are not a definite yes or no but if the organization has Citrix, RDP, Terminal services, 3D/2D or graphically intensive software then additional research with the Evolve IP team is suggested. Obvious fits Organizations that have already been using a form of desktop virtualization – like VDI or people that are currently using RDP are a fit - Small to Medium size businesses around 50 people.
