There is no file analysis product, so don’t try to sell this as a product rather than a feature. For customers that desire this functionality, they must purchase the appropriate Storage Profiler (for network attached or SAN storage) or Virtual and Server Profiler tiers for file analysis on the server. For performance improvement, the customer can add additional pollers to their storage environment.

This product monitors the virtual machines and the health of servers (physical and virtual). For Vmware, VMDK’s, you will gain visibility into which host it resides, when it was last used, and much more data that will help prevent VM sprawl. It will also help to identify physical servers that make suitable candidates for virtualization (P2V). This product has the functionality of the Application Profiler (Exchange, Oracle, SQL); it will enable end-to-end mapping back to the disk when used with Storage Profiler.
