Our Mission: To provide safe shelter to homeless and abused women and children in crisis and to offer life-changing services promoting stability, dignity, and self-reliance.
2
What is The Shade Tree? The Shade Tree began as Jubilee Ministries to serve abused and homeless women and children in 1989 and officially became The Shade Tree in 1990. The shelter provides immediate safety from the harshness of the streets or the violence in some homes. It is the only 24-hour accessible shelter designed specifically to meet the needs of homeless and abused women and children in Southern Nevada. With 364 beds, it is the largest shelter of its kind in the state.

What makes us special… The Stallman Touro Clinic Established in 2009 in direct response to providing access to healthcare services for one of the most high-risk populations in our community, the homeless Located on-site and offers basic medical services including: flu-shots, immunizations, blood draws, OB-GYN, adult health, and pediatric clinics All services are offered free of charge to all residents of The Shade Tree
5
What makes us special… Noah’s Animal House Opened in October 2007 as direct response to domestic violence and pet abuse First of its kind in Nevada and the western region Temporary boarding of dogs, cats, and other animal family members of clients of The Shade Tree Located on site 100 pets sheltered each year on average
6
Our families need your support. Nevada leads the nation in unemployment and another frightening statistic: more women lose their lives due to domestic violence in our state than any other state in nation. Over 30% of the 300 + residents residing at The Shade Tree this evening are victims of domestic violence. Every 8 minutes, a woman or child is sexually assaulted in Nevada. What will you do to keep them safe?

“Because of The Shade Tree, me and my mom had a better chance to get back on our feet. The Shade Tree treated us with respect and we respected them. Being at The Shade Tree was like having a second family. We are now back on our feet and being successful in life now.” -Former teenage resident of The Shade Tree “Thank you, Shade Tree, thank you! Me and my cats walk into The Shade Tree with a full understanding of how blessed we are to be here. Wow! I had no idea how blessed! One of my cats became ill and just hours from being euthanized; my angels (the staff at Noah’s Animal House) came to his rescue! Melody was his buddy lending a helping hand. Jeanie was his aunt; loving and kind everyday. Crystal was his nurse and friend; and so much more.” -“Marissa” Signs of Hope
