15 www.Build-It-Yourself.com Sales Commission Analysis Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) In our BP, we modeled that our CAC is about 20% of the customer value. Assume 10% is BIY cost of sales support. That leaves 10% for the student sales person commission. Assume a student sells and maintains a membership pool of 50 members after 12 months. Gross revenue is $18K / year after mo. 12 ($30/mo x 12 mos. X 50 members) Student commission at 10% would be $1800 / year Assume a student must spend 4 hrs. per week over 50 weeks to build and maintain this pool. Student hourly rate would be $9/hr.
