4 Welcome to Smileyville, USA tomorrowYou are all members of various groups attending a city council meeting tomorrow in Smileyville. Watersliding World Inc Lafayette Reservoir SmileyvilleThe issue at hand is this: “Watersliding World, Inc. has requested that the city council issue a land use permit to allow their company to build waterslides at the Lafayette Reservoir on the southside of Smileyville. The city council will meet tomorrow to decide whether or not to issue the permit. The City Council will hear from all interested groups regarding this issue, then vote as a group on the issue. The first group to be heard from will be Watersliding World. Each group will be allowed to step up to the podium to express their opinions to the City Council.

5 Group #1- Group #1- The City Council Mrs. Colvin is the mayor and she will have 2-3-4 other city council members. –City Manager –1 member at large –2 members from 2 wards. –You will meet today with your group. biography outline –Give yourselves new names and identities and fill out the biography outline about yourself –Brainstorm details about each identity: For example, since the mayor and the city council of Smileyville do work full-time at other jobs, you can make up what each of you does for a job. –Each member should have at least three things to say about themselves. –The mayor will have the additional task of introducing each council member and leading the council meeting.
