Driver operates a commercial vehicle within a radius of 160 kilometers of home terminal Driver returns to home terminal each day to start minimum 8 consecutive hours of off-duty time Driver works for motor carrier that maintains record of duty status Driver is not driving under a permit issued under these Regulations

Total number of hours spent in each duty status for each day Use of off-duty deferral and if Day 1 or Day 2 (if applicable) Use of adverse driving and emergency exemptions (if applicable) Odometer readings for any personal use of the commercial vehicle (if applicable)

Any supporting documents or relevant records that the driver receives during the current trip - receipts for meals, fuel, or repairs; bills of lading; tickets and inspections Driver must be able to explain to the inspector why the driver qualifies for daily log exemption

On the day that the trip from the old location to the new location occurs, driver must record the change using a daily log because driver has not returned to normal home terminal © Microsoft®

Fill out daily log for day the driver does not qualify for exemption Record all driving hours in day regardless of whether driver qualified for exemption or not Record, in the Remarks section of the daily log, number of off-duty and on-duty hours for each day in the previous 14 days
