11 IXL Great way for students to practice math facts! They LOVE it! Link is on my website – Bookmark it for easy sign-in (must use the SCASD sign-in) Students will be assigned a letter to work on and a skill Can be used in school, at home, at the library, etc.

12 Homework Homework Binder – All homework should come home and return to school in their STAR Homework Binder Assignment Book – Filled out everyday – PLEASE sign – Link on my website Late Homework – In an effort to teach responsibility, it must be completed during recess* Typical Week’s Homework: – Spelling/Word Study Given Mondays, DUE FRIDAYS – Math 4 times per week – Reading 3 rd Grade: 20 minutes every day – Social Studies and/or Science Occasionally * Case-by-case basis

13 Grading Homework Assignments: – ✓ +Submitted on time, well done, neat, complete, 90% correct – ✓ Handed in on time, complete, 80% correct – ✓ -Late, incomplete, or mostly incorrect Tests & Quizzes: – Traditional grading scale, point value will vary Projects & Activities: – Assessed with rubrics that are specific to the particular task *NEW* Students will work towards exceeding, meeting or working towards expectations

14 Family Journals Sent home Friday Students write a minimum of five sentences about the week Written in letter format- can be to anyone! Person (or pet) must write back Anything can be added! This is a personal collection of 3 rd grade memories and a great way to communicate with others about what is happening in school!

15 Behavioral Expectations Citizenship Skills – In room 25 we will respect each other, care about each other, and resolve our conflicts. – Discussed what being a good citizen means Responsible Honest Fair Caring Respectful RESPECT – Ourselves, each other, classroom, school

16 P.A.W.S. Promote Kindness Act Responsibly Work Hard Show Respect – School Wide – Earn tickets in recognition of PAWSitive behavior (positive) – White ticket goes home for parent recognition! – Yellow gets collected, one “winner” each week – Tangible and intangible awards, announced over loudspeaker on Tuesday! – Classroom Behavior System: Earn words as supplement

17 Snack Time Options : – Each student brings in own snack everyday – Can leave a non-perishable snack in classroom and refill when needed – Chronic “Whoops” days will result in email request for contribution to class snack – MUST BE: Healthy Some good options: Fruit Granola Bars (check the label please!) CHEESE and crackers Cheese sticks
