17 th Annual Small Payload Rideshare Symposium The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Laurel, MD June 9, 2015 c.mowry@arianespace.com

2 CONTENTS Arianespace, at a glance A family of launch systems History of multiple satellite launches VEGA & VESPA SOYUZ with ASAP-S Momentum

ARIANESPACE, AT A GLANCE 3 Founded in 1980 The world’s first commercial launch company 80% of business is launching commercial satellites Contracts with 90+ customers worldwide More than 50% of the commercial satellites in service today were launched by Arianespace Launches performed at the Guiana Space Center, a secure facility in NATO allied territory Three systems can launch any mass to any orbit

A FAMILY OF LAUNCH SYSTEMS 4 Launches since 1980 223 Ariane 45 of the last 48 flights in dual launch 37 Soyuz 11 from the CSG 26 from Baikonur 4 Vega First two missions were multi-manifest

5 ON TRACK FOR ANOTHER RECORD OPERATIONAL YEAR WITH 12 PLANNED LAUNCHES IN 2015 2016 2015 4 launches so far... …and up to 8 more to come. 6 Ariane 3 Soyuz 3 Vega 27 March VS11 Galileo FOC M2 2 Vega 2 Soyuz 4 Ariane 5 VA222 Thor 7 Sicral-2 26 April 11 February VV04 IXV VA223 DIRECTV-15 SKY Mexico-1 27 May VV05 - Sentinel 2A VS12 - Galileo FOC M3 VV06 - Lisa Pathfinder VS13 - Galileo FOC M4

6 HISTORY OF MULTIPLE SATELLITE LAUNCH CONFIGURATIONS Arianespace has developed successive structures for dual and multiple launches of small satellites: ASAP-4 system on Ariane 4 (8 flights), 1988 ASAP-5 system on Ariane 5 (5 flights - 2 SSO missions / 3 GTO missions) ASAP-S system on Soyuz (1 flight so far and one in process) VESPA system on Vega (1 flight so far with two in process)

7 FROM SYLDA TO VESPA SYLDA Designed for Ariane 5 Dual launches of large satellites to GTO Upper payload: ~6,000 kg Lower payload: ~3,000 kg Height = 4,903 mm (std) Max diameter ~ 4,560 mm Mass: from 425 kg to 535 kg Material: Carbon fiber VESPA Designed for Vega Dual launches of smaller satellites to LEO Upper payload: Up to 1,000 kg Lower payload: Up to 600 kg Height = 2,715 (std) Max diameter ~ 2,100 mm Mass ~ 245 kg Material: CFRP (Automatic FP) and Aluminum alloy

8 VEGA’S TRACK RECORD 4 consecutive successful flights at CSG Last mission, February 11, VV-04: Launch of IXV re-entry vehicle Next flight in June 22: Sentinel 2A (ESA Copernicus program) 12 Vegas in production with ELV and 10 launches under contract today Expecting 3-4 launches per year from CSG Multiple SSO missions in 2016 and 2017 using the VESPA structure Future opportunities for optical, navigation, radar, weather, AIS & hyperspectral missions

VEGA - MULTIPLE PAYLOAD ACCOMMODATIONS 9 Multiple payload launches with Ariane since 1983 SYLDA, ASAP 4 and ASAP 5 systems VESPA allows for rideshares at lower costs Lightweight carbon fiber-reinforced polymer structure Upper position can accommodate up to 1000 kg Lower position can accommodate up to 600 kg VEga Secondary Payload Adapter (VESPA)

10 VEGA C Increase performance from 1500 to 1800 kg P-120 core 1 st stage replaces P-80 core Economies of scale from Ariane 6 production Z-40 stage replaces Z-23 stage AVUM+ upperstage replaces AVUM Dispensers for small payloads and cubesats Debut in 2018, operation in 2019 VEGA vs VEGA-C

11 SOYUZ WITH ASAP-S Auxiliary passengers solutions on Soyuz Provide launch opportunities to: – Main passenger: mass ~3000 Kg – Micro auxiliary passenger: mass < 200 Kg – Mini auxiliary passenger: 200 Kg < mass < 400 Kg LEO, SSO, MEO or GTO orbits Experience with Pleiades 1A launch: – December 2011 – 5 smaller satellites + 1 main passenger to LEO

12 MOMENTUM -Contract announced in March with Skybox Imaging -A block of high resolution imaging satellites to be launched -Vega launch vehicle from CSG with Perusat -Scheduled launch in 2016
