5 Course Outline  Course Title: Academic Writing  Credit Hours: 3  Course Description In examining and critiquing various modes of presentation, this course seeks to improve the student’s faculty of critical analysis, to introduce the pupil to academic discussion as a constructive collaborative forum for developing ideas, and to make the student aware of writing as a continuous process of refining ideas. The student will engage in the process of academic writing in a systematic manner. The course gives useful practice in writing steps from selecting a research topic to writing the final draft. The course aims to induce a sense of responsibility in the pupils in order to inspire them to work for the purpose of research, progress and improvement.
