He sets a goal, makes a commitment to complete the goal and follows through on his commitment. 7. Josmar is such a bright and precious student! He perseveres constantly. Josmar came to my classroom without speaking English. He was quiet and quite reserve. As time has passed, Josmar has taken the initiative to learn as much English as he possibly can. He constantly asks questions when he does not understand and raises his hand to answer questions that his teacher asks. Even though he may not have the correct answer, he never gives up...he continues to try until he succeeds. Hooray for Josmar! Ms. Montgomery, Teacher

8. Jarrett has worked very hard to get through his first months of school. He has pushed through and overcome his fears and nervousness to become a model student. 14. Ciron has showed nothing but perseverance from the moment he stepped into the classroom. At the beginning of the school year he acknowledged that he wanted to improve and put his mind to it. He has grown by 10 reading levels this year, has become a true mathematics wizard, went from barely writing to just recently finishing his own book, and has developed into a little gentleman and good citizen in our classroom. 16. Even though Natalia has only been here a short time, she tries her best at all times. This is a new school for her and it is not easy to make friends so late in the year, but Natalia has proven to be a friend to all of the students. 18. Princess has shown perseverance many times this year. She continuously tries her hardest on all assignments no matter how difficult. She also will use all her resources to continue them. Jordyn has become a better reader this year by volunteering to read aloud and trying hard words. He doesn't worry what other students think and he tries to always better himself by taking chances. 24. Dameion really enjoys math and has been successful learning his multiplication facts.
