Entering the Room Always enter the room quietly and politely. Do not enter the classroom if there is another class in there; wait patiently and quietly in hallway Find your seat right away and start morning work/problem of the day/DOL. Follow any specific directions on the board. Sharpen pencils before class is started. Turn in anything to me or ask questions right away. This is not a time for socializing!

Leaving the Room During class: You will not be allowed to leave my room during class time, unless there is an emergency. Use given bathroom time to your advantage throughout the day. Never disrupt class to ask to go to the bathroom or get a drink. At end of class: Do not start packing up until I say class is over. Clean up area around your seat and return anything borrowed. Pack up and form line by door QUIETLY! Wait for permission to leave classroom. ALWAYS be quiet and considerate in the hallway.

Around the Room Turn in all homework assignments on turn-in shelves. Find any extra handouts in black bins. Classroom Library Make sure to sign book out on sign-out sheet. When borrowing supplies: Always return items borrowed. Be respectful to these supplies (I bought them with my money). Keep shelves and supplies organized.

During Instructional time… Be respectful to others. No talking while someone else is talking. Only math/LA items should be on desk Only may get up to get a tissue Don’t be disruptive. Follow along with what we are doing. Raise your hand ALWAYS! Do not shout out answers.

During Small Group/Work time… Always use indoor voices. N.O.I.S.E. system Follow whatever directions are given. Stay on task (small group time is not a time to socialize!) I WILL break up groups/separate people who are not staying on task. Work together as a team and cooperate. Make sure every group member is putting in the same amount of effort.

When done with classwork… No talking or distracting others. Must work on Simple Solutions or enrichment work in your student folder (MATH) or read AR book (LA). Not time to socialize or work on other homework!

Missing Assignments Students will be allowed 1 freebie (for the year). Must fill out missing assignment sheet (in bin at front of class) to explain why the assignment was not completed and turn it in to bin on my desk. Missing assignment must be turned in the next day. All late homework assignments will be reduced half of its points (If assignment is work 20 points, it will be reduced to 10 points automatically if late)

When Absent… Always check Ascend to see what you missed. You are responsible for finding out what you missed and turning in your late work. Once you return to school, you have as many days as you were out to turn in your work. Example: If you were out 1 day, you have 1 day after you return to turn in the work. If you don’t turn it in within that time frame, it will be treated as a missing assignment.

Grading Homework (Math) Answers must always be highlighted for convenience of grading. Always pay attention so you don’t miss any answers. Time will not be wasted repeating every answer. MUST grade all homework/assignments in RED pen or pencil. You should always have a red pen/pencil, but if not, use any other color but black pen/pencil.
