Pure Science: Pure science is a science that is done for a purpose, lets say medicine for example, it helps out humans in some kind of way. Applied Science: a science that is done by curiosity, like how fast can we make this car go for example.

 Is a logical explanation  Ex: The floor is wet, someone must of spilt water. The car has a bid dent on the front bumper, someone must of crashed it. The kid is wearing glasses he must not see from far or close away.

 A fair test is a unopinionated test. Something that you get something out of. Ex: Have kids race to see who runs faster. Have kids jump to see who jumps higher. Have kids take the vision test to see what kind of eyesight do they have.

 IV: The IV is the thing (subject) that changes in the experiment.  DV: The DV is the results that you get from the IV in the experiment.  CV: The CV is the thing (subject) that stays the same in the experiment.

 An observation is basically anything you could see, feel, touch, smell, taste, and hear.  Ex: That car is blue. This food taste good. My favorite song is on.

 A conclusion is a summary.( So like a short little recap on your info). Ex: When people run with shoes they run faster then when they are barefoot.

 A bar graph is used when you are comparing things.  A line graph is used when time is involved in the research question or in your data.

 A qualitative statement is a statement that involves numbers in it. Ex: Spiders have 8 legs.  A quantitative statement is a statement that has no numbers in it. Ex: The kid is wearing a red shirt.

 Mean is the average. Ex: 1,2,3,4,5 you add all the numbers and then divide them by the amount of numbers there is. In this case it would be 3  Median is the middle. Ex: 1,2,3,4,5 it would be 3 because it is in the middle of all the numbers.  Most is the most seen number. Ex: 1,1,2,3,4,5 It would be 1 because it is seen more times then the other numbers.

 Hypothesis would be an educated guess. Ex: I think that the kid with shoes is going to run faster then the kid without shoes.  Theory is a hypothesis that has been tested many times and has given the same answer/solution. Ex: Theory of evolution, Cell theory, Big bang theory.

 A control group is the group in the experiment that does not change. Ex: Group A doesn’t drink water.  A experimental group is the group that does change in the experiment. Ex: Group B does drink water.
