4. Grafts are shoots from one plant that are joined to the stem of another plant of a similar species. This technique is commonly used with fruit trees. 1: The stem of the plant that is going to receive the graft is split, and the stem from the donor plant is joined to this cut. 2: The cut heals and the new branch becomes part of the receptor plant. 5. This technique is used to make new plants from one of the mother plant’s branches. It involves bending a branch towards the ground until it is partially buried in the soil.
