1 National Chapter Award Recognition for Your Success!

2 Purpose Encourage the development and use of a Program of Activities (POA) Reward chapter accomplishments Recognition for chapter success

3 Benefits Getting members involved Develops an outline for the years activities Have a younger member walk across the stage at State Conference and National Convention Money and plaques Bragging rights

4 Awards Superior Chapter Certificate Complete Form I, State level Gold, Silver, Bronze multi-year plaque Complete Forms I & II, State level Three, Two, One Star multi-year plaque Chosen from Gold level applications sent on for national competition

5 Awards Models of Innovation National Three Star rated chapters eligible to compete for this award Ten finalists in each of the three divisions Student, Chapter, Community One winner in each division is selected at convention through a presentation/interview process.

6 Form I Lists and briefly describes one activity for each of the fifteen quality standards. Student Development leadership, healthy lifestyles, SAE’s, scholarship, agricultural career skills Chapter Development chapter recruitment, financial, public relations, leadership, support group

7 Form I (cont.) Community Development economic, environmental, human resources, citizenship, agricultural awareness Transfer information directly from your completed Program of Activities.

8 Form II Complete for State Recognition-Gold, Silver, Bronze 3 or a number equal to 10% of all chapters may be sent on for national competition. All sent on must be rated Gold. National Awards of 3 Star,2 Star, or 1 Star

9 Photo & Caption A high quality picture, showing involvement in the activity. 50 word caption that is informative and interesting. Try to make it longer than a sentence. Do not repeat photos within the application. Use borders around the pictures Use the special paste for pictures

10 General Tips Be sure to get all signatures Use only the space provided and do not attach additional materials to the application. Form I should have 15 different activities, Form II should have 9 different activities, which may come from Form I. Place application in the Official FFA Application Binder Have someone proof read the entire application and make necessary changes.

11 General Tips Use size 12 font Protect application in some type of binder Print application on white paper Use upper and lower case letters Take the State Judges comments and make changes before you send to Nationals

12 Easy as One, Two, Three! Divide into groups by chapter Select a part of Form 1 to complete. Select an Activity that meets the requirements for that category. Set Goals and Complete all parts of that section. You have 20 minutes to complete this activity. What Questions are there?

14 Scoring: Judges look for… Specific goals (measurable and realistic) Did plan of action correspond with goals Were the goals achieved Did the students, chapter and community benefit No spelling or grammatical errors Was everyone involved (members and community) Photo was of good quality and explained the activity
