Subject liaison and research support Book renewal & reservation through telephone Extension services, such as indexing of faculty publications Smart Library ID and Smart Cellphone services Services for the physically challenged individual

3. What services will discontinue or be relocated to the learning commons? To be discontinued are: Subject bibliography services Cataloging tasks shall be partly outsourced To be Relocated to Learning Commons: Self-service operated photocopying & reprographic machines Online requests for Inter-library loan and document delivery Online FAQ

4. What services will be dramatically transformed? Library Orientation/Instruction utilizing Web 2.0 and Youtube.com Entry to the library and library transactions using the Smart card Partial outsourcing of cataloging tasks Course reserve packet

5. Should the new library offer any services at all or should they all be offered from the learning commons? Yes. The new/future library will still offer the services aside from those available or found at the learning commons. The services that will stay in the learning commons are: printing services use of computer facilities access to e-resources discussion/group meeting viewing of educational videos and movies access to library orientation on YouTube self-service multimedia student learning services coffee corner comfortable reading facilities like bean bags

6. Should more services be offered offsite or offered 24/7? If so, which services? Book Chutes shall be provided within the community area for returning of book loans Library Website access to the digital and online resources and map collections Learning commons to be opened 24/7

7. Should the library act like a social agency – becoming more like student support services or even merging with student services? Yes. ◦ To conform with the emerging learning styles and diverse formats of learning and teaching materials and resources.

8. If libraries are virtual and electronic, should they take services to the users producing customized services for various communities? Yes. 9. Would this eliminate the need for a physical library space? No.

10. Will you need to charge for some services while other are free? Yes, for the services that has consumables like printing, photo/reprographic, etc. Yes, also for document delivery, hard copies to be delivered to the requesting party.
