In that school he met his future business partner, Paul Allen, and started programming computers. After school he went to Harvard, the best university in the USA. But he never graduated. He left Harvard two years later and gave all his time to Microsoft, the company he had started with Paul Allen in 1975. Today he is a multimillionaire. His company, Microsoft, is the biggest and most successful computer software company in the world.

3. In 1975 the company Microsoft was formed, which was an abbreviation of microcomputer software. It soon became simply "Microsoft"® and went on to completely change the way people use computers.

4. Bill Gates is the head of the software company Microsoft and is one of the world's wealthiest men. Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft in the 1970s, though Allen left the company in 1983. In June of 2006, Gates announced that he would step down from day-to-day involvement in Microsoft by July of 2008.
