Copyright © 2006, Infinite Campus, Inc. All rights reserved. Purpose What is FDF? FDF is the file format used for Acrobat Forms. This format is used to submit Form data to a server, receiving a response, and incorporating it back into a Form. How is it used in Campus? Districts can create their own forms that pull information from the database onto the forms as well as save custom fields to the server. Forms can be uploaded in the Campus Special Education, Health, and PLP modules

Copyright © 2006, Infinite Campus, Inc. All rights reserved. Creating a PDF Print the form using a PDF Distiller or as an Adobe PDF. You will need Adobe Professional Version 5.0 or higher.

Copyright © 2006, Infinite Campus, Inc. All rights reserved. Creating form fields 1 1. Select the form tool. Located in Tools > Advanced Editing 2. Once the form tool has been selected, click and drag a rectangle on the document to create a field. 3. The field name is entered under name. If it is one of the pre-defined fields, Campus will pull the information into the form.

Copyright © 2006, Infinite Campus, Inc. All rights reserved. Creating form fields 3 On the Options tab, the ability to make a multi-line field. Other tabs available include Actions, Format, Validate, and Calculate. These tabs will allow you to customize the field to a greater extent.

Copyright © 2006, Infinite Campus, Inc. All rights reserved. Adding the SAVE button The FDF template has a save button that can be copied and pasted onto other FDF forms. This button has all the coding needed to submit newly entered information back to the database. Simply click on the save button, copy it, then paste it into the new FDF form.

Copyright © 2006, Infinite Campus, Inc. All rights reserved. Using FDFs If the form was set up to be a blank, it will appear in the Index only for SPED. If the form was set up to be active, it will appear in the dropdown list on Documents tabs.
