6. Click here to work out how much Immigration Health Surcharge you will need to pay. It is only payable if the total duration of the course is 6 months or more.

7. Please enter your course dates as they appear on your CAS, and the system should automatically work out the amount you need to pay.

You pay the Immigration Health Surcharge towards the end of your Tier 4 application.

8. Read and click Next

9. Answer no here and ‘I am’ here
Once you have answered all the questions remember to click the SAVE button.

10. Put the place of birth exactly as it is written in your passport
Once you have finished completing each page click “Save”.
Then click “Next”.

11. A new box will appear, please insert the information as above
Kate: Can we change the postcode to 2TF? We have had a couple of things not arriving because the Home Office used the postcode to generate the address and ignored what the student wrote on the form. The courier then tried, and failed, to deliver the visa to Garth (which is 2DF).

12. Click ‘Yes’ and enter the reference number of any previous UK visas.
If you don’t know your reference numbers then answer ‘No’ to this question.

13. If you have lived anywhere else in the UK in the past 5 years you need to answer ‘Yes’ and include every address .
Use the “Add another” button if you have lived at more than one address in the past 5 years.

14. Please make sure that you tick every box.
If you are unsure ask us!

15. The reference number is the ‘VAF number’ and is printed on the visa in your passport in small, black text.
The rest of this page can be found on the next slide.

Do not copy from your friends, only input information you find on your own CAS.

19. Copy the course fee from your CAS letter.
University accommodation only (i.e. not private accommodation)
Click ‘Yes’.
You are being sponsored by your Government so say ‘Yes’.

20. Check your CAS letter:
Your CAS should state if you need an ATAS
Click ‘Yes’

21. If there is a problem and/or missing information a message will appear in red text.

22. To see where a mistake was made, click the “Home” tab.
The sections which need changing are the ones with the red cross.
Once you have corrected the mistakes click “Next” then “Check application”
Now the page should look like this!

23. Tick ‘Yes’ to the documents that you will be providing with your application and ‘No’ to the ones that are not relevant.

25. Documents you will need include:
Passport & visa
CAS letter
Financial Sponsor letter - must be original, less than 6 months old, with an official stamp.
If your Financial Sponsor letter states that all tuition fees and living costs will be covered – you do not need to provide additional bank statements.
If your Financial Sponsor letter states a ‘salary’ that is less than the required amount, you will need to provide bank statements to show that you have the difference in your bank account.
You must have had this money in your bank account for a minimum of 28 days. The amount of money required will depend on when you are submitting your visa application as rules change on
