5 FY 2016 Requests for Additional Resources Transportation Council endorsed the following RARs and the Board of County Commissioners are evaluating these as part of their revisit list: Expansion of service from Wyandotte County and KU Med to Mission Transit Center - use transit reserves and included in the County Manager’s proposed budget Metcalf/75 th Street and Connector Service Strategies $1,220,000 Paratransit Service Expansion Special Edition expanded service and remove trip restrictions $455,000* Direct Taxi Voucher Pilot Program $475,000 Total RAR Request: $2,150,000 *Use of savings from Management Consolidation 5

9 Service Concept and Preliminary Cost Estimate Route 556/856 – Metcalf-Plaza Connex Current Service: Weekdays only: 30-minute peak, 60-minute midday, no evening Proposed Service: Limited evening service 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Extend to JCCC loop and Corbin Park/Prairiefire Route 667- Nall reconfiguration to travel west on 95 th Street Route 575/875 – 75 th Street-Quivira Current Service: Weekdays only: 60-minute peak, 120-minute midday, no evening Proposed Service: Weekdays: 30-minute peak and 60-minute midday service Limited evening service 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. 9

10 Service Concept and Preliminary Cost Estimate KCATA Route 175 – 75 th Street (travels on 95 th Street and Metcalf in JoCo) Current Service: Weekdays: 30-minute service to Metcalf in peak hours only Proposed Service: Weekdays: Add additional peak hour trips Other service improvements for connectivity on The JO and KCATA routes (e.g. 667-Nall extension) First year one-time cost for capital, planning and extensive marketing efforts and technology (real time route information) upgrades Total Cost: $1,220,000 10

11 Service Concept and Preliminary Cost Estimate Special Edition – Expanded Service Proposed Service: No trip restrictions for trips outside of Johnson County Continue to operate in the same manner Makes SE more regional and adds flexibility Total Cost: $455,000 Direct Taxi Voucher Pilot Program Increased flexibility for users Limited number of vouchers per month/per individual Set aside a portion of trips for residents that live outside the Special Edition service boundary to better understand demand Total Cost: $475,000 11
